Beijing is the capital city of the People's Republic of China, it is one of the great ancient capital cities. It is the second largest city after Shanghai and the political, educational and cultural centre of the country. Beijing's history dates back several thousand years and it has been the capital city for more than 850 years. Beijing assembles the culture of Yuan, Ming and Qing dynastys, it is rich in historical sites and it is the city with most cultural heritages in the world.
